Little Known Ways to Save With Home Remedies
Everyday we are given a new opportunity. A chance to be good person, a role model, and to live without reacting. Traumatic experiences are all to familiar for the numerous amount of people on this planet, especially in NYC. As a New Yorker, we may come off distant, busy or flippant and there is often a reason to the insanity.
There are people in this world that do not understand the importance of personal space and respect for others. Abuse can takes many shapes and forms, for that is a demon so many know quite well. When a person unknown to us touches another, it can create a highly alert feeling for those who have fought those demons. Occasionally it may take a minute to understand that person is not a threat to one’s well being. The most important thing is to understand and continue to INFORM them and yourself of personal space.
Do not let others invade your bubble and especially do not let them hold on to you!!! You do know what the bubble is, right? The bubble is your own personal space that only certain people, if any, are allowed to penetrate.
Not everyone in this city has a chance to cater to themselves and with skin that scars and marks so easily, I choose to find time in my daily schedule to just be by myself. I cannot stress enough to others the importance of keeping your body, mind and skin up to par. The belief that your outer beauty can be and should be a reflection of your inner beauty is how we need to choose to live our life. Own your beautiful skin tones and flaunt your positive energy! This does not mean that you are part of a petting zoo and everyone is allowed to touch you. When you respect yourself others will respect you as well.
You want to know how do you keep your skin so lovely? Soap and water with a combination of great genetics would be nice! I’m not sure about ya’ll, but to undergo cosmetic surgery and to see a dermatologist is out of budget. Growing up in the south, my Grandmere taught me a few things that I’m grateful to share with you this day. Here’s a few to get you on the way to amazingly flawless skin… and also super cheap!!!!
1.) Egg Whites
You’ll Need :
- 2 – 3 egg whites (separated from yolk Bowl)
Directions – Rinse your face with water and pat dry. Separate the whites from the yolks. Whisk the whites until they’re frothy, and let them sit for a few minutes (like 2 minutes). Cover your face with the mixture (applying with fingertips is easier and also focus on problem areas) 3 to 4 layers is usually enough, ut make sure to wait till the first layer has dried before applying more. Let it sit and dry for about 20 minutes before rinsing o completely with warm water and patting dry. Apply moisturizer. I prefer St. Ives personally.
2.) Lemon Juice
- 1 tablespoon of freshly squeezed lemon juice
- Q tips or cotton balls
- Yogurt (optional)
Directions - Rinse face gently with water and pat dry. Dab fingers, a cotton ball, or a Q-Tip in lemon juice and apply to pimple or problem area. If it stings, try mixing it first with a bit of yogurt.
3.) Almighty Sugar Scrub
- 1 ½ cups of white sugar
- 1 ½ cups of brown sugar. Light or dark
- 2-3 tablespoons coarse sea salt
- 10 tablespoons of pure vanilla extract
- 1 whole vanilla bean (optional)
Directions - Mix the sugars together, adding in a few tablespoons of the sea salt for extra exfoliation and mix. If you use the vanilla bean, scrape out the caviar ( the inside stuff) and mix. Pour about 2 cups of the mixture into a liquid measuring cup and pack it down nice and snug. Pour the extra virgin olive oil over the top and let it soak through half the mixture. Mix it and then add the rest of the sugar/salt mixture. Add about 4 -5 tablespoons of pure vanilla extract and mix it in. You can now spoon your scrub into whatever container you have available. If you want you can drizzle vanilla extract on top for a nice aroma.
4.) Put a Potato on it!
Directions - The great thing about potatoes is that it is stocked full of potassium, sulfur, phosphorus, and chloride, which all help reduce blemishes and generate new skin cells. Wash your face with water ad pat almost dry, leaving it a little damp. Grate 1 raw potato and rub the pulp and juice onto your face for a few minutes in a circular motion. Dry for 15 to 20 minutes and then rinse off completely with warm water.
These are just a few home remedies I use whenever I’m actually at home and not traveling the world throwing parties and/or walking a runway. I do suggest that you consult a doctor for extreme cases and hope you understand that all results are different. Being happy and healthy in your own skin and being the person you want to be in life is a goal that is absolutely obtainable! You just have to want it and never let anyone get in your way. This world and this life is yours to make whatever it is you want it to be and what I want from you all is to be happy and healthy. So stay cute and fresh and I’ll see you out there
