Expectations are Dangerous, 2 Easy TIPS to Live in the Moment
Do you ever feel you can’t pin point your feelings? Confused? You thought everything was under control and for the most part the direction in your life you are choosing is but at the same time something feels to be missing. Perhaps it is not a lack of and instead a want or desire. Maybe its something you already have but your perception of it or made up expectation of it is different than expected. I am realizing that expectations are dangerous. Creating an experience before actually having the experience can be damaging. By doing so, we are setting ourselves up to be disappointed. That is why many say enjoy the little things or enjoy the moment because it’ll pass right by. To live in the present moment allows us to never the ability to never live in fear or un-forgiveness. Here are some helpful tips to always live in the moment and catch yourself when you are living in the past or future:
Every experience is made up of emotions. To better categorize these emotions, lets place them in past and future.
PAST thoughts are made up of emotions of “Non-Forgiveness":
FUTURE thoughts are made up of emotions of “Fear”:
When you practice identifying these emotions it becomes easier to realize that you are not living in the present moment when you identify any of the emotions. The more you work at something the easier it becomes. It’s exactly like riding a bike. Once you start practicing the better you get at it! Eventually you’ll never forget how to ride that two wheel bike but you won’t know for sure unless you get back on it, so start riding your bike more often :)!
